I need perspective

There is a song from the musical Pippin called "Corner of the Sky." One of the verses states:

Every man has his daydreams

Every man has his goal

People like the way dreams have

Of sticking to the soul

Thunderclouds have their lightning

Nightingales have their song

And don't you see I want my life to be

Something more than long....

Somewhere along the way in my teaching career, I decided that I wanted to help kids. I wanted to make a difference.

There are too many obstacles.

Other teachers (not my team, though)

Principals who are AWOL

Assistant Principals who don't listen

School-Related Personnel who don't believe that teachers might, just might, know more than the subject they teach

Parents who rely on professionals

Doctors and Therapists who think that magic pills cure everything and don't stop the think that the warning labels are there for a reason.

I need a new career.
