Tis the day after Thanksgiving

I am not out shopping. I did most of the Christmas shopping already and that was online. I can't stand the crowds in the off season, I am surely not going out now that the frenzy is upon us.

I am as thankful as I can be this year. I miss my Mom, I miss Geri. Has it already been 4 years since she died? My beloved MIL has a lump. It could be a hernia. It could also be a tumor. She hasn't been cancer free for a full 4 years yet.

I have my Dad, the girls and my Knight. We have a home, and we can pay our bills. Better than most.

I was able to help my great nephews. I can help my cousin with her Christmas. Better than most.

Vote, for all of our sakes, VOTE

"What the naysayers don't understand is that this election has never been about me. It's been about you."
-Barack Obama

I like that quote. I like that quote because it is exactly what this election is about. It is about We the People. Yes, we have an electoral college. Yes, there is something slightly undemocratic about it. HOWEVER, we have run the process. We The People voted in the primaries. The delegates at the nominating conventions were representing We The People. Today We The People take to the polls to elect many, many people to office.
The presidency is an important office in this day and age, but so is Senator and Congressperson. Of equal importance are the state assembly people, the town justices....
You can probably guess for whom I will pull the lever (for the last time, our machines are being retired this year). A good friend is voting for neither major candidate. I wouldn't dream of changing his mind, because he has done his research, searched his conscience and is voting for the best person he can find.
I urge you to do the same.
