And to you and yours...

HAPPY NEW YEAR

and good night

As the year ends

As the year ends, it is a good time to make a list of things for which I am grateful:
*My Knight in slightly tarnished armor. He gave me 2 DVDs for Christmas, and some stoneware that arrived cracked. We returned them, and may or may not get different ones. He is a good man. He loves his children, even when, as the case of my SS, they break his heart. He is a hard worker, and was rewarded for that by being made a manager.
*My BRE. At 12 she and I are having growing pains. All in all, though, she is beautiful and brilliant. She is developing a sense of humor eerily like her Dad's. Her grades are good, she has good friends, and she is a gentle soul.
*The Magpie, MJE, who is a silly, sweet, loving, EXHAUSTING child. She is a lovely imp...stress on imp.
*My cousins, especially MN and her girls. I can call on her anytime for anything, and she can do the same. Our girls will always know that they have people upon which to count.
*My sister. Although she lives hundreds of miles away, we have gotten closer. That was a gift, given to us by our dying big sister.
*My Dad. At 83, I won't have him forever, but I do today. He loves his grandkids, and great grandkids. Another good man.
*My MIL, whom I adore.
*My friends, both close by and far away. I can count upon them for anything.
*My teammates. Wow...I can't say enough for these dedicated teachers.

Is there a special place in the afterlife

Is there a special place in the afterlife for the father tried to kill his son?
Is there a special place in the afterlife for the mother who called her parents and told them to come get HER daughter, because the drugs were more important than the child?
Is there a special place in the afterlife for the teacher, who instead of showing compassion to the homeless student, chewed her out in front of the class for being unprepared for school?
Is there a special place in the afterlife for the nurse, who told a terrified student that her stomach ache was all in her head and to "get over it?"
Is there a special place in the afterlife for the young man, who wants for Christmas a pair of pants that aren't hand-me-downs, yet brought in 7 dollars for food for poor kids?
Is there a special place in the afterlife for the girl who wants for Christmas a shopping trip to a mall, and 5 dollars to buy her best friend a Christmas present?
Is there a special place in the afterlife for the students and teachers who brought in 315 cans of food? That was 111 kids and 7 adults.

Trying my hand again with a blog. Reasonable way for friends and families to connect with my life. Interesting way to see others opinions.
